The Ministry of Community Empowerment has praised the efforts of the volunteers who participated in organizing the World Government Summit 2025. A total of 260 volunteers dedicated their time around the clock throughout the global event, providing services to more than 6,000 participants. Their contributions reflected a community-driven approach that highlights the core elements of Emirati identity.

Strategic Partners
The Ministry of Community Empowerment played a significant role, in collaboration with its partners from various federal and local government entities and civil society institutions, in attracting, selecting, and equipping volunteers with the necessary skills. Among them were People of Determination. Participating entities included the Federal Youth Authority, the Community Development Authority in Dubai, the UAE Students Association, and the Dubai Neighborhoods Initiative (Furjan Dubai). Volunteers were assigned to different teams based on their skills, capabilities, and experience, as they are considered key contributors to the success of the government summit, ensuring the UAE’s developmental and cultural experience is showcased in the best possible manner.

The World Government Summit serves as an opportunity to promote a culture of volunteering and engage youth in shaping global experiences. Their participation has become an integral part of the event’s success. Beyond their role in organizing the summit, volunteering provided them with a valuable learning experience, helping them acquire communication skills, time management techniques, and teamwork abilities. The event also provided them with an opportunity to meet prominent international figures from various sectors, which will positively impact their growth and prepare them to become responsible future leaders.

Recognizing volunteering as a duty, a moral commitment, and a humanitarian right, the United Arab Emirates, guided by the vision of its founding leader, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may he rest in peace, has established volunteering as a fundamental value of Emirati identity. This principle reflects the values of generosity and philanthropy, reinforcing the concept of social responsibility, which remains a cornerstone of community cohesion and solidarity.

A Culture of Volunteering
The UAE is among the first countries globally to enact laws that encourage volunteerism. The Ministry of Community Empowerment issued Federal Law No. (13) of 2018 on Volunteering, aimed at promoting, encouraging, and raising awareness about the importance of volunteer work while regulating and developing it.

It is worth noting that the ministry is committed to fostering positive citizenship and instilling the values of giving and volunteerism as part of its strategic objectives. These efforts aim to enhance quality of life, provide comprehensive social protection for all members of society, and position the social sector as a leading, future-oriented entity with advanced capabilities.
